EUGENE/SPRINGFIELD
CHAPTER #1010
Faye Henderson
May 9th........Mother's Day..............Night Club Two Step...............Teacher, Robert Phaigh.
Now that is what I call a winning combination!!!
Thanks, Robert, for another excellent lesson in one of our favorite dances, Night Club 2 Step. You always teach with great skill, sharp
technique, no nonsense, but allowing for lots of fun and enjoyment during all your lessons, captivating this group of 30 to 35 dancers,
and keeping their attention through out the lesson, and "they got it".
The first dance, of course, was NC2Step. The floor filled immediately, all eager to practice those steps and patterns just learned.
Robert, you may revisit our chapter anytime for a repeat performance. For those of you who may not know, Robert is the husband of
"our charming and lovely, Laura Taylor"....She, also, is a talented teacher of Ballroom Dance.
Yexin Wu.......Our DJ for the evening. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Music was extraordinary, remarkable,
special, very danceable and plenty of NC2Step, in keeping with our theme for the dance.
GOOD GOOD MUSIC!
Please let our DJ's know how much you appreciate them. The only pay they receive is your applause, thanks and verbal appreciation,
which means a lot....Our DJ's are "priceless"!.......By the way, while you are pleasantly handing out the "thank you's" and appreciatoin,
don't forget ALL our volunteers.....Priceless, as well. A great group to work with.
LOOKING AHEAD
June 13th.....6pm...........Bonnie Prater, from Newport, will be teaching Beginning American Tango. It has been "quite a spell" since
we've had the privilege of Bonnie's talented and fun teaching at our chapter, so let's all try and attend, giving this visiting teacher our
"Big Eugene Welcome". Bonnie promises to bring along some of her dancing friends as well. Bonnie sure knows how to teach and
dance Tango. Sounds like an exciting "dance party" about to happen.
July 11th.......6pm..........Laura Sue H., from Eugene, teaching Beginning American Waltz. Be prepared to mix and mingle with a "full"
dance floor whenever this teacher is in charge, and teaching the all American favorite, WALTZ.....I can hardly wait for this one. Laura
is one of our most talented, fun and pleasant teachers in this area, we are honored to have her.
August 8th.....6pm......Michaela Chevalier, from Beaverton/Portland area, will be teaching Beginning American Rhythm......Most likely
will be Rumba, however, Michaela is very talented in teaching all Rhythm dances and loves teaching this style. Remember this "young,
charming, petite & trim" teacher last August, teaching Cha Cha......That's her!!!! Yes! She's promised to return in August. Welcome
her again, you will love her teaching as well as her charming personality. Not bad to look at either!
Sept. 12th.....teacher and dance not yet confirmed.
We dance every second Sunday, lesson at 6pm.....Social dancing 7pm to 9:30pm....Veterans Memorial Bldg, 1626 Willamette
Street.....Find us at www.eugeneballroomdance.org.
Fees: $5 member, $8 non member.
Another newspaper headline........
COLD WAVE LINKED TO TEMPERATURES (no kidding?!!)
Till next time.....May you know contentment, delight, and your fair share of absolute joy.
